Guns N' Roses have asked their idols Rose Tattoo to open for them, as the band did on its visit in 1993 when they played Eastern Creek in Sydney to 71,000 fans and Calder Raceway in Melbourne to 66,000.

Other artists headed downunder include a co-bill of Steely Dan and World Party for nine arena and winery shows September 8-24.

Christina Aguilera returns to Australia back after three years for five arena shows July 14-29. The pop singer will also play her first New Zealand date at Auckland's Vector Arena July 11.

Metal and punk fans were happy with announcements of tours by Swiss black metal merchants Celtic Frost for two shows June 13-14; German thrashers Sodom for five club dates June 8-15; and a double package of U.S. bands Norma Jean and Every Time I Die for seven club dates June 6-13.

Florida's Anberlin plays six shows June 8-16, and Darkest Hour is out for six dates June 6-13.
