Cowboy Junkies Continue Trinity Celebration

03:16 AM, Thursday 3/20/08 Add |   |

Cowboy Junkies, who recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal album The Trinity Session, have announced a bunch of U.S. shows for the spring and early summer.

The band kicks things off March 21 at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Mich., and has dates on the books through early June.

Highlights include stops at the Granada Theatre in Lawrence, Kan. (March 24), Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago (March 29), John Ascuaga's Nugget Hotel/Casino in Sparks, Nev. (April 25), the John Van Duzer Theatre in Arcata, Calif. (May 1), The Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, Ariz. (May 29), the KiMo Theatre in Albuquerque, N.M. (June 3) and the One World Theatre in Austin (June 6-7).

Tickets for some shows are available through links at CowboyJunkies.com.

The band recently returned to the Toronto church where they recorded Trinity in November of 1987, along with special guests Ryan Adams, Vic Chesnutt, Natalie Merchant and a camera crew, to revisit the album.

The resulting CD/DVD package, Trinity Revisited, features all 12 of the album's original songs performed in sequence.
