A.K.A., Bob Pollard's New Band

07:09 AM, Saturday 6/28/08 Add |   |

A band called Boston Spaceships is heading out this September and October but the GBV über-fans know what this is really about.

One would be hard-pressed to find more devoted fans than those who cherish Guided By Voices. Some may not like them, but those who do are slavishly devoted.

Now GBV chieftain Bob Pollard, along with GBV's Chris Slusarenko on guitar and drummer John Moen are making public appearances of a new band September 25 through October 18, playing songs from new album Brown Submarine.

The first show is at the Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, followed by the Grog Shop in Cleveland September 26. Other cities on the tour include Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, Dallas and Atlanta, before wrapping at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville.

Unfortunately for Pollard-heads on the left side of the country, that's when Boston Spaceships turns around and goes back to Ohio.
