Metallica Announces North American Dates

Metallica has announced its first North American trek in four years in support of upcoming release Death Magnetic.

The band launches the first wave of its assault October 21 at Jobing Arena in Glendale, Ariz., and will hit markets across the U.S. and Canada through the end of January.

Confirmed shows include Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. (October 25), Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City (November 3), Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio (November 9), Scottrade Center in St. Louis (November 17), Key Arena in Seattle (December 1), Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario (December 12), Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif. (December 20), Bradley Center in Milwaukee (January 12), Banknorth Center in Boston (January 18), Allstate Arena in Chicago (January 26) and Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. (January 31).

Opening for October/November dates are Down and The Sword, with December dates handled by Lamb of God and The Sword and January dates supported by Machine Head and The Sword.

Additional dates are expected.

Met Club and Mission Metallica Platinum members will have first crack at tickets when they go on sale. Details will be announced in the coming weeks at Metallica.com.
