STS9 Announces Fall Trek, New Year's Eve Shows

04:11 AM, Thursday 9/25/08 Add |   |

Electronic jam-band faves STS9 have announced plans for a fall trek behind recent release, Peaceblaster, as well as details for their annual four-night New Year's Eve run.

The tour kicks off October 22 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, Calif., and runs through late November.

Highlights include stops at The Marquee in Tempe, Ariz. (October 24), Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Okla. (October 29), House of Blues in New Orleans (November 2), Alabama Theatre in Birmingham (November 7), Amos' Southend in Charlotte, N.C. (November 13), Mr. Small's Theatre in Pittsburgh (November 19) and First Avenue in Minneapolis (November 22).

STS9's traditional New Year's Eve shows are scheduled for December 28-31 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta.

Tickets for the band's 22-show tour and its New Year's Eve gigs are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Peaceblaster comes nearly three years after STS9's 2005 releases, Artifact & Artifact: Perspectives, both of which were named in iTunes list of top albums of the year.

After a flurry of industry attention, the band retreated from the limelight to do what it loves most: play music. STS9 reached as high as No. 29 on Pollstar's Concert Pulse charts, which list the country's top touring artists.

The band has shared the stage with a diverse range of acts including James Brown, Jurassic 5, Tortoise, Digable Planets, RJD2, Talib Kweli, Ghostland Observatory, Prefuse 73, Blackalicious, Saul Williams, Soulive, Cut Chemist, and many others, as well as appearing at festivals like Austin City Limits Festival, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Winter Music Conference, and Vegoose Festival.
