Dar Williams' Promise

07:11 AM, Saturday 11/1/08 Add |   |

Singer/songwriter Dar Williams is out on the road in support of her first set of new material in more than three years, Promised Land.

The singer makes a stop tonight at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Ga., and will mainly visit clubs and theatres on the East Coast through the end of December.

Other stops on the schedule include The Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C. (November 3), Birchmere in Alexandria, Va. (November 7-8), Spaulding Auditorium in Hanover, N.H. (November 18), Clifton Center in Louisville, K.Y. (November 23), Toad's Place in New Haven, Conn. (December 6), Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y. (December 12), and Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Mass. (December 26).

Appearing with Williams on selected dates is fellow singer/songwriter Lucy Wainwright Roche.

Tickets for some shows are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Promised Land, which was released in early September, was produced by Brad Wood (Pete Yorn, Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins) and features 12 songs that introduce a fresh interpretation of Williams' signature sound.

Besides originals like "It's Alright," "The Easy Way" and "Buzzer," the album includes a pair of covers: "Midnight Radio" from the rock musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and Fountains of Wayne's "Troubled Times."
