Cyndi Gets The Hives For Christmas

02:41 PM, Wednesday 11/19/08 4 |   |

The holidays sometimes bring together an interesting mix of folks (you should see the Pollstar Christmas party) and it looks like this year is no exception.

Eighties star Cyndi Lauper has gotten together with Swedish garage rockers The Hives to record a holiday duet the band is describing as “a Christmas duel.”

The track will be available as a free download in the coming weeks at TheHivesBroadcastingService.com.

We haven’t been this excited about a Christmas song since The Royal Guardsmen’s “Snoopy vs. The Red Baron.”

Oooh, can't wait to hear this one. I'm so tired of the same old Christmas tunes. Somebody should do a whole album of oddball combos doing new holiday songs.

I think that's "Snoopy's Christmas" by the Royal Guardsmen (sometimes subtitled "Christmas Bells"). In any case, I'll listen to xmas music in any shape, form, or combination.

This is going to be pretty awesome, it's about time somebody got original!
