You Asked For It!

While it seems that most readers are enjoying the sparkly new Pollstar.com, there are a few who seem less than clear on some of the new features and where some of the old ones have gone.

Luckily for those folks we didn’t just slap this thing up without a little beta testing.

Our helpful customer service department has compiled a few of the most frequently asked questions about the new site. Hopefully this list will shine some light on things that might be puzzling you. If you have further questions, please submit them to feedback@pollstar.com.

Q: Where do I find my AutoNotify list?
A: Your AutoNotify list is located under "My Pollstar"

Q: How do I add artists/venues to my AutoNotify list?
A: You can add artists/venues in two ways: When you are viewing the dates check mark "AutoNotify" under TOOLS and the artist will be added to your list. OR When you are viewing your search results from "Find An Event" click on the check mark under the "Auto Notify" column. When the check mark is green they are added to your list.

Q: How do I remove artists/venues from my auto-notify list?
A: When you are viewing your "My AutoNotify List" simply un-check all AutoNotify options for the artist/venue you wish to remove, next time you go to "My Pollstar" they will no longer be listed.

Q: I'm getting "You entered an Email Address that is NOT in our database." when I try to do a password recovery, where is my account?
A: All accounts were not transferred over to the new website. If the website is unable to find your account, you will need to recreate it.

Q: I'm getting email about news stories and photos but I just want to be notified about my artist/venue's tour dates, what's going on?
A: Each artist/venue has "AutoNotify Options" check marked in green. You can receive updates anytime one of your artist/venues is mentioned in a news story or a new photo is posted of them. If you only wish to be notified about your artist's tour dates un-check the other items for each artist.

Q: Why am I getting notifications for concerts in other countries instead of just my travel area?
A: This feature is in the works and will be added to the website in the near future.

Q: I would like to only get email once a day in digest form, how do I set my account to do this?
A: This feature is in the works and will be added to the website in the near future.

I have three words for the new pollstar.com....terrible, terrible and terrible. It looks cluttered, the blue font is terrible, the lists looks fragmented and glued together. This is what happens when computer geeks are let loose on a website. Woe is me!

Jottawa, Jottawa, Jottawa... Pollstar probably put this page up for you personally. I know you're having trouble comprehending and reading, but keep at it. Now break-time is over... put back the GI Joe's and get back to sweeping out the men's room. Gloom, despair and agony on me...

Some of the new content was really needed.  But can we go back to the earlier "look and feel"?  This is way too busy and hard to focus on.

Ya got lovreall the naysayers that want to go back to the old site... radicals, all! HA HA!

If the recent elections have taught us anything, it's that CHANGE IS GOOD! Pollstar - the new site - is definitely GOOD.

Get used to change as it's happening all around us. Personally I absolutely love the new design and features. Well done, Pollstar!

explain to people how they get starcred, por favor?

everyone thinks you have to leave comments, when IN FACT you can rate artists, stories, pictures, leave REVIEWS of artists, and comment etc. for cred.

I think perhaps something that would be useful for all the many many people who still can't seem to get it, is a tutorial. Maybe after being shown how to do things, this site wouldn't seem so bad? I did read a comment that suggested customized color schemes for the site though, and I completely agree with that.

Why are they trying to turn Pollstar into a Social Networking site? This is HORRIBLE. I don't WANT video content, user comments, profiles, and all that. I just want concise listings. Easy, and clear.

When you type in, for instance, "LONDON", it shows are ALL OF THE results! It shows every band, city, and venue with the word 'london. The page is too cluttered. What happened to the drop downs?

This new Pollstar needs a LOT of work still...

I don't see anywhere on this site where "suggestions" may be sent, so I'm going to to do it here.

One - How about a "suggestion box" link?

Two - How about a page where users can request specific artists and bands to come to their city? I've seen it on at least one other site and it would seem to be a good fit for Pollstar given that you've got a longer history in the music business than most and have a legit professional site to boot.

Overall the site is great and enjoy coming back as often as possible. I for one, am glad you changed the design from the old site. It was so - 80's - even though there wasn't an internet then!!!!

    Keep up the good work.

The city/venue/artist search feature is less organized and when cities are requested for (especially large ones) there are obviously fewer dates and artists listed than the older format which makes upcoming show events hidden and unnoticed.  Unless its still in its testing phase, I get a lot of error responses when searching for certain cities and artists.

It would help to have specific repeatable examples so we could work on the issue.  These can be submitted to the 'Send Beta Feedback' link at the top of the page.

Sorry, but I did NOT ask for this! Please go back to what we had before. This is just all wrong and very uncomfortable. Whomever sold you this package as being what the customer wants has no idea what they are talking about. Get you money back, and give us back the old way of doing things. Thank you!
