Remember that waiting list we discussed earlier this week? There’s good news for all of you Scarlett O’Haras out there. It looks like the President-elect is coming to the rescue.

Apparently loads of people exercised their great American right to procrastinate. And when we say loads, we mean it. In fact, Obama transition team co-chair John Podesta estimates the number of people on the waiting list will reach 5 million by the beginning of February.

So to keep all of those folks from seeing nothing but static on Feb. 17, Podesta sent a letter to Congress to ask that they delay the transition to digital broadcasting.

Obama officials are apparently concerned that the government is not doing enough to help consumers – that means you dear reader – prepare for and navigate the transition.

So we’ll say this at least one more time: get off your butt and sign up for a coupon. Look, we’ll even provide you with a handy link.
