The Closing Bell

You can't head out for Friday night fun until you eyeball the new dates for Sarah Brightman, Nickelback, Pat Benatar and Zappa Plays Zappa, and check out the links to items about cell phones as music devices, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson as TV actors, RIAA's appeal to keep you from watching court proceeding and ISPs’ potential profits for enforcing copyrights.

Link-O-Rama …

Can ISPs make money by busting copyright infringers? One company thinks so – CNET

RIAA appeals judge’s decision to stream video of P2P lawsuit proceedings – Ars Technica

How many different ways can cell phones change how you listen to music? Wired lists 5 of ‘em – Wired / Epicenter

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson to appear in “CSI: NY” episode – Entertainment Weekly

Dates, Dates & More Dates …

Pat Benatar updates with a new Orlando listing slotted for February 17 at Universal Studios. Ms. Benatar also two nights in Tacoma – July 17 & 18 – at the Emerald Queen Casino.

Nickelback also fills in a few openings, scheduling West Palm Beach at the Cruzan Amphitheatre for April 25 and Tampa at the Ford Amphitheatre @ State Fairgrounds for April 26.

Sarah Brightman nails down a few dates for Japan and South Korea. The new Japan date is March 5 in Tokyo at Budokan Hall. Ms. Brightman’s South Korea itinerary now includes Seoul on March 13 & 14 at Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium and Busan on March 20 at BEXCO Convention Center.

And we have a few more Zappa Plays Zappa dates, this time for California. Catch son Dweezil & friends March 4 in Santa Cruz at the Rio Theatre; March 5 in Redding at Cascade Theatre; March 6 in Sacramento at Crest Theatre and March 7 in Santa Rosa at Wells Fargo Center For The Arts.

That wraps up this week’s adventure in concert data. Don’t forget! It’s not a weekend unless you catch some live music! After all, without live music a weekend is only two days with a lot of sports on the TV.  Adios!
