Tigercity Takes Off

Posted on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at 06:03 AM 1 |

After some winter hibernation, Brooklyn foursome Tigercity is back on the prowl with upcoming dates around the States, a stop at South by Southwest and the band’s European debut.

Tigercity leaps into action at The Studio at Webster Hall in NYC Feb. 20 and the band won’t rest until the U.S. portion of the trek wraps at Harpers Ferry in Allston, Mass., April 10.

Other dates include DC9 in Washington, D.C. (Feb. 24), The Crowbar in Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 28), The Vagabond in Miami (March 7), The Prophet Bar in Dallas (March 13), The Speakeasy in Austin (March 20) and Chicago’s Double Door (March 28).

The group, which apparently has quite a following in Poland, will play a trio of shows there, at Jadlodajnia Filozoficzna in Warsaw (April 16), Lizard King in Krakow (April 17) and Eskulap in Poznan (April 18).

Besides the tour plans, Tigercity’s been working in the studio with producer Chuck Brody (American Princes, Wu-Tang, Beastie Boys), and recently released two new singles, “Fake Gold” and “Mallory,” on its Myspace page.
