No Doubt It’s Summer!

09:24 AM, Wednesday 2/25/09 3 |   |

No Doubt announces tour dates and a new widget. It’s all a part of the “Seven Days Of No Doubt!”

Even though the band is calling their upcoming run of dates a “summer tour” it really starts in the spring. And, while the band is calling its appearance at New Jersey’s Bamboozle Festival on May 3 the first date of the tour, it really doesn’t start looking like a new city almost every night until the band plays Tiger Jam on May 16 in Las Vegas followed by May 19 in Fresno at the Save Mart Center.

Stops include Bakersfield at the Rabobank Arena on May 20; San Diego at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre on May 22; Denver at Fiddler’s on May 27; Atlanta at Lakewood on June 5; Virginia Beach at Verizon Wireless on June 10; Boston at the Comcast Center on June 20 and July 2 at Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

Other cities and dates include Detroit (July 3), Kansas City (July 6) and Seattle (July 19). The schedule shows the tour wrapping up in the band’s Southern California stomping grounds, playing two nights (so far) at Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (July 31 & Aug. 1).

Look for Paramore occupying the special guest slot, and The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash on select dates.

The band also declares “Seven Days Of No Doubt,” starting Feb. 28 and running through March 6. What this means is fans can download a widget from NoDoubt.com providing them with a direct line to the band. Furthermore, No Doubt is encouraging fans to share the widget with as many friends as possible. Those showing the most viral attitude for Gwen and the boys will be eligible for a special contest running through March 17 with prizes including tickets, limo rides, chances to meet the band and items promised to be “rare and collectible.”

Now the important part. Tickets.

Fans come first with the No Doubt Tour Club. Promising the best seats in the house, it all starts by visiting nodoubttourclub.musictoday.com. But hurry, there’s a limited number of memberships per city.

The band also promises to make some $10 and $25 tickets available to the general public at certain amphitheatres. That’s right – $10 and $25 tickets.

Meanwhile, dates to most shows go on sale March 7. While you make your plans you can watch a video of the band announcing this shindig here.

It's about time they do this whole thing again. I hope this is a successful thing so it shows the band that fans want them together again. For good!!

Yeah, that whole "Holla Back Girl" crap has run it's course. It's time Gwen took a trip back to the Tragic Kingdom... and by that I mean Fresno. ;D

Is there really a market for this tour to play large venues? Now is not the time to tour and charge fans $90. Come on Live Nation stop making stupid guarantees.
