Before I let you move on to check out what’s on the tube tonight, I have a little misinformation to clear up.

Last week I told you about Jimmy Fallon’s killer “Late Night” house band, The Roots. In that piece I quoted an Associated Press story that said the group’s friend Branford Marsalis, who was bandleader for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” from 1992-1995, thought the idea was a crazy one.

There’s just one problem. Marsalis apparently hasn’t spoken to The Roots in over ten years according to his manager Sherry McAdams.

McAdams said although Marsalis hadn’t actually offered the band advice on the job, he’s happy for them and would have told them he thinks it's a great opportunity. If he’d gotten the chance. Which I guess he just did.
