Limp Bizkit No Longer Scared Of Bullies

08:01 AM, Friday 3/20/09 6 |   |

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst recently revealed the reason why the nu metal band split up back in 2005 – bullies.

“Limp Bizkit, for a while, [was] the fuel for bullies to beat up a lot of these underdogs," Durst told Entertainment Weekly. "That's when I decided to stop. I was like, 'You know, that's me they're beating up, and my music is fueling them.' So I held back for a while."

Ironically, it was Durst who was shoved inside lockers back in the day.

“I got beat up all the time in high school," Durst said. “I was the underdog. All of my angst comes from that in my life.”

Man, what a crazy circle of life! Bullies beat up Durst, who got out his anger through his music, which inspired bullies to beat up a new generation of Fred Dursts! I can’t believe I used to listen to their music in high school. Ah, so embarrassing! Don’t worry, despite the amazing power of “Break Stuff,” I somehow refrained from beating up other kids.

Limp Bizkit announced last month that the original band’s lineup was back together with Durst on vocals, guitarist Wes Borland, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto and turntablist DJ Lethal.

The band is going to be busy this summer with a number of European festival appearances on the books including Rock im Park/ Rock am Ring in Germany June 5-7, the Download Festival in England June 12-14, and Roch Werchter Festival in Belgium, July 4.

The guys are also working on a new album.

"It's better than ever," Durst said about the reunion, according to Entertainment Weekly. "We own Limp Bizkit. Not a damn thing is changing! We are the same and we are gonna kill it!"

Hmmm. If the band is the same, how are they going to stop the bullies? Guess we’re going to have to wait and find out. Maybe the new album will be soothing and include a cover of “Kumbaya.”

Ugh. This is arguably worse than the Blink 182 reunion. Are there really people looking forward to this?
