Now, pay attention because this can be a little confusing. Even though the August through October run starts Aug. 19 in Holmdel, N.J., the Panic won’t join up with the Brothers until the Camden, N.J. gig on Aug. 21 Appearing with the Allmans on the Aug. 19 show will be The Doobie Brothers.
In fact, the Doobs will tour with the Brothers on several dates in May. However, three of the dates – 12 & 13 in Oakland, Calif., and May 24 in Vegas, are billed as “an evening with …” while the May 16 show is a co-headline with The Dead.
But back to the Allmans / Panic schedule.
The first date for the two bands is Aug. 21 in Camden N.J., at the Susquehanna Bank Center. From there it’s Canandaigua, N.Y., on Aug. 22; Gilford, N.H., on Aug. 24; Wantagh, N.Y., on Aug. 27, Mansfield, Mass., on Aug. 29 and Hartford, Conn., on August 30.
There are only two September dates on the schedule – 2 & 3 in Chicago at Charter One Pavilion.
Come October the Allmans and the Panic will also play two nights in Charlotte, N.C, and a series of single nights in Columbia, MD, Portsmouth, Vir., Raleigh, N.C., Knoxville, Tenn., Nashville, Dallas and Houston.
The Allmans recently wrapped up the band’s annual residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre where the Brothers performed 101 songs in 15 nights and were joined on various nights by a who’s who of rock royalty, including Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Billy Gibbons, Kid Rock, Levon Helm, Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell of Phish and Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of The Dead. All of the Beacon shows were broadcasted on bandmember Butch Trucks’ concert-video streaming site, Moogis.com.
