Bobby Flay To Host Great American Food & Music Festival

02:01 PM, Friday 4/3/09 2 |   |

It’s a tough job to premier an event you hope will become an annual attraction. Especially when that event is somewhat out of the ordinary in concert circles. That’s when you have to think really big.

Which is why well-known chef and Food Network personality Bobby Flay is hosting the first Great American Food & Music Festival on Saturday, June 13 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. Here you have a TV celeb known for his views on food, combined with all sorts of delicacies with Little Feat, Marshall Crenshaw and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy among the bands and artists providing the live tunes for your audible digestion system.

The list of famous eateries is quite impressive with Pink’s Hot Dogs from Los Angeles, Barney Greengrass from New York City, Cincinnati’s Graeter’s Ice Cream, Southside Market Barbecue from Texas, Tony Luke’s Cheesesteaks from (where else?) Philadelphia, and the Anchor Bar from Buffalo, N.Y., creators of the original Buffalo wings.

Are you hungry yet?

Along with all that food will be a gathering of world food celebrities, including Guy Fieri, host of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. The festival will also announce more musical acts in the weeks to come.

Presented by SF Weekly and KGO TV and Radio, the festival is a joint production of the Agency Group Events & Entertainment and SeriousEats.com. Tickets go on sale Sunday, April 5 and are available at LiveNation.com, Blockbuster Video locations and the Shoreline box office.

Bring Anthony Bourdain in to do some cobra heart shooters, and I'm totally there.  That Andrew Zimmern dude, though...not so much.
