Jimmy Buffett’s Radio Active Tour

Posted on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at 02:01 PM 2 |

Wanna taste of Jimmy Buffett’s Summerzcool tour starting tomorrow night in Atlanta? Sirius XM is broadcasting every stop on the tour.

It all happens on Buffett’s satellite radio home, Radio Margaritaville, which is channel 31 for those of you with Sirius receivers, and channel 55 for the XM side.

Sirius and XM subscribers can hear every concert on the upcoming tour kicking off tomorrow night at Atlanta’s Lakewood Amphitheatre. Included with the broadcasts will be pre-show parties and behind-the-scenes looks at the Summerzcool tour. There will also be interviews with Buffet as well as members of his Coral Reefer Band.

Buffett has been broadcasting his concerts on Sirius for three years. The recent merger with XM means the other half of satellite radio also gets a dose of Buffett and his Caribbean way of looking at life, the world, and margaritas.

“I’m really excited about it,” Buffett said from his vegetable oil-powered, environmentally sound Green Tomato Van. “This year I’ve written quite a few new songs over the winter. I wrote them to play on tour, and not necessarily for an album, but now we may put them on a record later this year. The songs cover everything from the festivals in the desert in Timbuktu, to the recession, to the optimistic outlook on the other side.”
