Voodoo Experience Paying Your Ticket Surcharges

08:01 AM, Friday 4/17/09 Add |   |

What’s the one thing that’s freakier than the scariest scary movie you’ve ever seen? For a concert Web site, the answer is easy – ticket fees.

Voodoo Experience producers are doing away with all the tricks and are covering ticket surcharges on all tickets for the Halloween weekend event in New Orleans, scheduled for Oct. 30- Nov. 1.

That’s right. Voodoo pays the surcharges and you save approximately 15 percent on each ticket you purchase, according to a press release.

“When people buy tickets, they see one price and end up paying a completely different one,” said Voodoo Experience founder and producer Stephen Rehage. "We decided to absorb those fees ourselves so that fans pay exactly what's advertised. We want the Voodoo audience to focus more on what they'll see and hear over Halloween weekend.”

Festival attendees are also being offered another treat – for a limited time three-day weekend passes are being offered for $103 and three-day weekend LOA Lounge VIP passes are $336.

The 2009 Voodoo Experience will once again take place in New Orleans’ City Park. This year’s lineup will be announced in the coming months. The fest will feature more than 160 artists on eight stages in three distinct performance areas – Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival. New Orleans’ bohemian culture, arts and cuisine will also be on display.

Organizers say last year’s festival drew more than 150,000 people to the park to see artists including Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., TV on the Radio, Lil Wayne and Panic At The Disco.
