Creed Is Back!

Posted on Monday April 27, 2009 at 10:07 AM 17 |

All four members of Creed are reuniting for a new album and tour. Is this the best news you’ve heard today, or what?

Rumors of a Creed reunion have been circulating for the past few months, and now the band has made it official. Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall will be hitting the road under the Creed banner starting in August and running through October.

The touring schedule released today includes dates and cities, but no venues. Judging from the available information it looks as if the band might start out playing a few amphitheatres before moving indoors as summer becomes fall.

The itinerary shows the first date as August 6 in Pittsburgh. From there it’s Darien Lakes, N.Y., on August 8; Hershey, Pa., on August 9; Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on August 11 and Philly on August 13.

Other stops include Cincinnati on August 28; Milwaukee on September 1; Orlando on September 15; Las Vegas on September 27; Minneapolis on October 6 and Nashville slotted for October 14.

Formed in Florida in 1995, Creed went on to become the first act to have seven consecutive number one rock radio singles, with four of those hits coming from the band’s first album. The No. 1 band was also voted Favorite Group in the 2003 People’s Choice Awards, won several American Music Awards and snagged a Grammy for best rock song for it’s 2001 release, “With Arms Wide Open.”

This June marks five years since Creed’s breakup. Since then, vocalist Stapp has gone on to release solo albums while the remaining members joined up with Myles Kennedy to form Alter Bridge.

“It’s amazing how life can change and bring you full circle,” Stapp said. “Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans! It’s rare in life to get a second chance to make a first impression and we embrace the opportunity. We all believe the best is yet to come!”

Most of the announced August dates, with the exception of the Detroit stop, go on sale May 9 while the Motor City goes up May 30. Creed has partnered with I Love All Access to offer several different VIP ticket packages, including premium seats, meet ‘n’ greets, photo ops and parties.

Whether you're a fan or not, they do put on a great show.  Hopefully they've evolved and can turn out some different sounds on the new album.  I am a fan, but even I have to say a lot of their stuff got old fast because it sounded so similar to the rest.

Oh good...one of the lamest bands of all time has reunited.  I was happy to wish them good riddance once and for all. Gross, now the world is going to be subjected to new crappy Creed songs in addition to the old crappy ones. Ugh.

I despise this band, always have, always will. Although that won't change the undisputable fact that a couple thousand frat guy toolboxes will show up at every show with their fists in the air. What a joke.

Easily the WORST show I ever was dragged to...I still hold it against the friend that  talked me into going because he couldn't find anyone to go with. Scott Stapp is an amazing legend in his own mind...absolutely brutal
