Now We Are Five

Posted on Friday May 8, 2009 at 02:01 PM 3 |

Canada’s annual summer music shindig, Virgin Festival, will rock the country from coast to coast this year, expanding to five separate two-day festivals featuring headliners Black Eyed Peas and New Kids on the Block.

In addition to Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, Virgin Festival will also be held for the first time in Montreal and Nova Scotia.

Leading off the season is Virgin Festival Montreal at Parc Jean-Dreapeau – Île Ste-Hélène June 19-20.

Also on the bill for all five events are Simple Plan, Hedley, The New Cities, Eva Avila, Akon, Live, Lights and Divine Brown. Additional acts will be added in the coming weeks.

General ticket sales for two-day, one-day and VIP weekend tickets begin May 9. Prices run from $75-$313.50, plus facility fees and donations to Virgin Unite Canada that vary based on the cost of the ticket.

For more info about the festival’s roster, as well as updates on the location of the other events, visit VirginFestival.ca.

yowza -  this is the worst line-up ever -  i think you would have to pay me to attend this festival - maybe Canadians are being punished ?

What the .....! Come on! Canada deserves better than this. I could programme a better festival than this with my eyes shut. Whos the head of Virgin Festival, they should be ashamed.

haha! Go a head and try.  I'm not sayin it's great, but you may find it isn't as easy as you seem to think.  Sure, you can dream up an outstanding lineup, try getting them all in the same place at the same time.

If it were me NIN would be headlining at least one show, so would Tom Waits, that doesn't mean I have a hope in hell of seeing them.
