As the contest between talk show titans David Letterman and Conan O’Brien heats up (not to mention the battle between Letterman and a certain governor), another of the players in the late night arena is quietly building his own army of fans now that his chief competition is the still wet-behind-the-ears Jimmy Fallon.

If you only know Craig Ferguson from his days as the supremely nutty Mr. Wick on “The Drew Carey Show,” it’s high time you checked out the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”

Besides having some of the coolest musical acts on before they’re overexposed and charming guests into admitting to embarrassing things on a regular basis, Ferguson seems to have found the perfect forum for his sometimes Python-esque comedy. (Like when he challenged Fallon to a live, on-air nude wrestling match earlier this month.)

Check out this clip of the opening segment of last Thursday’s “Late Late Show” and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Who would’ve thought a Jason Mraz song could be so much fun?

I love them both, so why not ? I have seen Jason twice and have tickets to see him again (with The Dave Matthews Band in Hershey, PA). I saw Craigs live comedy show last year and was awed by the show. My vcr is now set up to record his show every night, sorry, I can't afford TiVo...

Craig is a comedic genius! As for Jason Mraz, my license plate reads "MRAZ FAN", nuff said?
