The Birth Of A New Country Music Festival

02:01 PM, Friday 6/26/09 Add |   |

Get ready Louisiana State University. A colossal, stupendous, gigantic (insert your own superlative here) country music festival is coming your way next year.

The tentative name for this event is Bayou Country Superfest, a mega-event scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2010 – May 29 & 30 at LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The new country blowout will be produced by Festival Productions, Inc. – New Orleans (FPI-NO), which produces the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, plus AEG Live and The Messina Group.

Although only the tentative name for the festival, dates and location have been disclosed, festival organizers are promising a mammoth event starring some of the biggest names in country music.

“Great, successful festivals combine a unique setting, high-quality entertainment and superior production values,” said FPI-NO CEO Quint Davis. “The Country Superfest in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium is a destination event that feels like it was destined to be.”
