Alice In Chains To Rattle North America

12:01 PM, Wednesday 7/1/09 2 |   |

One of the hardest working rock bands on the road lines up a string of dates leading up to a new album.

The new Alice in Chains effort – Black Gives Way To Blue – arrives in stores September 29. Heralding the release, the band will travel across North America from east to west.

The tour launches Sept. 4 in D.C. at the 9:30 Club and wraps on Sept. 28 in San Francisco at the Fillmore. In between the band plays Philadelphia at the Theatre of Living Arts Sept. 5; Boston at the Paradise Sept. 7; NYC at the Fillmore Sept. 8; Toronto at the Opera House Sept. 15; Cleveland at House of Blues Sept. 16 and Chicago at HOB Sept. 19.

Other stops include Milwaukee Sept. 20; Minneapolis Sept. 21 and Portland Sept. 26.

But don’t think Alice in Chains is resting easy until September. The band plays Detroit’s Comerica Park with Kid Rock on July 18 and a series of Euro dates with Metallica during August before appearing with Tool and Linkin Park for the first-ever Epicenter event in Pomona, Calif., Aug. 22.

Meanwhile, the Alice in Chains is providing a taste of Black Gives Way To Blue by streaming a track from the album – “A Looking In View” on the band’s official Web site. For more information, just click here.

Ok, bought the record on iTunes, yeah I was skeptical, but I realized that jerry cantrell is Alice in chains, Layne was too junked up to be the heart and soul.   My buddy lives in jerry' s house in the hills, and I think the record rocks.   William Duvall of Atlanta has more talent than layne, and they are back
