Pearl Jam has announced another round of U.S. dates as part of the band’s first tour in more than a year. The tour coincides with the release of the ninth studio album for Eddie Vedder and co.

New dates include two nights at KeyArena in the band’s hometown of Seattle (Sept. 21-22) and four nights at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. (Sept. 30-Oct.1 and Oct. 6-7). There’s also a show at DreamCatcher At Viejas in Alpine, Calif. (Oct. 9) and two shows at The Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia (Oct. 28 and Oct. 30).

Ben Harper and Relentless7 are set to open all dates, except for the Wachovia Spectrum shows.

The 2009 tour kicks off Aug. 8 with a performance at the Virgin Festival in Calgary, Alberta. Pearl Jam plays Netherlands, Germany, the U.K. and Canada before heading back to the U.S. and playing two nights at Chicago’s United Center followed by a headlining slot at Outside Lands festival in San Francisco Aug. 28.

You can also catch the band at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas Oct. 4.

Pearl Jam also has plans to tour Australia and New Zealand with the band’s Web site promising “details to come soon.”

If you’re an active member of the band’s Ten Club (as of July 7) you can get your tickets early with the July 13 pre-sale. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased with a Visa or Mastercard at www.pearljam.com/max.

Tickets to the Wachovia Spectrum shows go on sale to the general public July 17 at 10 a.m. EDT at www.comcasttix.com.

All other shows go on sale to the general public July 18 at 10 a.m. PDT at www.ticketmaster.com.

Backspacer, Pearl Jam’s follow-up to the band’s 2006’s self-titled album, will be available Sept. 20 exclusively in the U.S. at Target. Universal is responsible for international distribution. The band debuted the track “Got Some” June 1 on Conan O’ Brien’s premier episode of "The Tonight Show."

No, that was Radiohead and NIN. Like 10-15 years ago PJ tried going against Ticketmaster. Needless to say it didn't work. I suppose anyone who's against Target could just buy it on the official Pearl Jam website. But it still all comes back to whatever label they're on.
