MGMT, The Flaming Lips, The Decemberists and MSTRKRFT have all signed on for this year’s outing of the Treasure Island Music Festival, which is really kind of like two festivals in one.

The October 17-18 event, which will once again return to Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay, offers an electronic and dance oriented lineup on its first day and an indie rock roster on the second.

Joining The Flaming Lips and The Decemberists on Saturday are Beirut, Grizzly Bear, Yo La Tengo, The Walkmen, Bob Mould, Thao And The Get Down Stay Down, Vetiver, Spiral Stairs, Sleepy Sun, Tommy Guerrero and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

Sharing Sunday’s bill with MGMT and MSTRKRFT are Girl Talk, Brazilian Girls, The Streets, Passion Pit, LTJ Bukem feat. MC Conrad, DJ Krush, Federico Aubele, Dan Deacon, Murs, Crown City Rockers and The Limousines.

In addition to music, fans can experience a multitude of activities including a 60-foot Ferris wheel, an interactive art tent, a vendor village showcasing local designers and a wide variety of food and drinks.

A limited number of $99.99 two-day tickets and single-day VIP two-packs go on sale July 14 at 12 p.m. PST at TreasureIslandFestival.com.

Single day tickets go on sale July 17 at 10 a.m. PST.

To offset traffic congestion and the limited number of parking spaces on the island, organizers will once again provide shuttles on and off the island to ticket holders for free.

Complete details on lineup and tickets are available at TreasureIslandFestival.com.

I've gone to this festival the past two years and think it's one of the best going. It's not too big, it's really green, and it's got great music and art to keep you going for hours. Thanks to our Indian summers, the weather is great too. Sadly, I can't make it this year, but if these bands tickle your fancy...GO!
