There are a couple of cool things happening tonight for music fans with cable television and without.
First up is “Steely Dan: Rent Party ’09,” an exclusive MSG Network original program that features never-before-seen footage of the legendary duo both on and off the stage, as well as interviews with Walter Becker and Donald Fagan and commentary by Rolling Stone’s Austin Scaggs.
The half-hour special, which follows Becker and Fagan as they rehearse for their upcoming summer tour which kicks off July 22 in Boston, will air tonight on Fuse at 10 p.m. ET.
If you’re not lucky enough to have cable, you can tune in (or log onto) NPR to catch a performance by The Dead Weather, a new supergroup featuring members of The White Stripes and The Kills.
The band’s full-length show from the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET on NPR's "All Songs Considered."
