Charlie Watts Quits?

09:01 AM, Wednesday 9/2/09 4 |   |

Although there is no official word on the matter, Undercover magazine is reporting that “a source within The Rolling Stones inner-circle” has confirmed that drummer Charlie Watts –the oldest of the original members – has quit the band.

Watts was allegedly persuaded by Keith Richards to do the Bigger Bang tour, but that was the end of his commitment to the band.

“The Stones are looking to Keith’s Expensive Winos drummer, Charlie Drayton, to fill the void in all future Stones’ callings,” the source told the magazine.

And then there were 3.......It's bad enough Bill Wyman isn't there but, Charlie's the heartbeat of the band.   I noticed that on alot the Studio outtakes I've been collecting as late.  Keith will definitely feel that loss

    Hey Jason,

Doesn't that make it two?  Ron Wood isn't an original member.

Damn, that's right....He's been such a fixture there....not that it matters now since Charlie isn't leaving.
