Prima Donna Touring Europe With Green Day

02:01 PM, Friday 9/11/09 Add |   |

After supporting British pub rock band Eddie & The Hot Rods on its round of U.S. dates earlier this year, Los Angeles-based rock ’n’ roll band Prima Donna has landed itself a major tour this fall, joining Green Day on its trek across U.K. and Europe.

The tour kicks off Sept. 28 at Pavilhao Atlantico in Lisbon, Portugal and concludes Nov. 12 at Pala Olimpico in Turin, Italy.

Additional dates include Palacio de la Comunidad in Madrid, Spain (Sept. 29), Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris (Oct. 4), O2 World in Berlin (Oct. 7), Wembley Arena in London (Nov. 1) and Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria (Nov. 6).

The tour will also make stops in Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Belguim, Ireland and Switzerland.

This isn’t the first time Prima Donna singer/guitarist Kevin Preston has toured with Green Day. Last May Preston joined Billie Joe Armstrong and the gang for a number of shows as Green Day's side project, the Foxboro Hot Tubs.

After wrapping up the Europe tour, Green Day then has plans to tour Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The Australian dates begin Dec. 4 at Burswood Dome in Perth and conclude Dec. 15 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

Green Day then plays two dates at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, Dec. 18-19, followed by two shows at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama-shi, Japan, Jan. 23-24, and a Jan. 25 performance at Nihon Gaishi Hall in Hagoya, Japan.
