West’s Apology Hat Trick

09:01 AM, Tuesday 9/15/09 7 |   |

Choosing “The Jay Leno Show” as the venue for making his third apology to Taylor Swift in 24 hours for ruining her MTVmoment in the sun, Kanye West says he’s going to take some time off to contemplate his buttinsky ways.

Swift was accepting the VMA for best female video when West suddenly appeared onstage, snatched the mic from the young country star and said Beyoncé
should have won the moonman.

West blogged his first “I’m sorry” shortly after the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night. His second apology came in the form of a statement released Monday morning.

Evidently twice wasn’t nice enough for West. Although he was already scheduled to appear on the debut of NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show” – performing with Jay-Z and Rihanna on the latter’s song “Run This Town,” West asked for some time on the program to apologize for his actions, saying, “It was rude, period.”

West answered with a “yes” when Leno asked the singer if he thought his mother would have lectured him. Donda West died in 2007 of complications from cosmetic surgery.

Said West:

“So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I've never taken the time off to really – you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ‘cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve.”

West also said he hopes to apologize to Swift in person.

Leno didn’t wait for West to appear on the show before referencing West’s latest example of bad manners. During his opening monologue, Leno said President Obama had invited the singer and Swift to the White House for a “root beer summit.”

As to taking time off to reflect about his life, West may have to fast track that particular plan of action. He kicks off his tour with Lady Gaga in Phoenix Nov. 10.

What a piece of shite, a perfect example of what is wrong with society. Don't say you are sorry Kanye, because you're not. Apologize and actually change your behavior one of these days. How lame was that audience, cheering for the guy when he came onstage?

This is what happens when the untalented and dim pretend to be artists… simply a ego without merit… I wasn’t aware MTV played videos anymore… I’m shocked more by this revelation than a outburst from some D rate record company creation.

Hasn't he realized his buttinsky ways before, denouncing them and saying he would work on them? What a job he did on that one. Go away Kanye. I hope this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, ya big douchebag.

I didn't think it was possible for him to be even MORE of a douche. Yeah he stole her moment, ok, we got that, but now you're just dragging it out making more air time for yourself by apologizing over and over like you really mean it? The news has had enough, the world has had enough. Yes, please, by all means, GO AWAY. Take LOTS of time off. And I agree with Tfronky, what was wrong with that audience that they cheered him at all? His mom's probably glad she isn't around to see this, if this was my kid, I'd pretend I didn't know him.

Kayne had a point !  Why did a country cracker win a VMA ? That is the real issue.
