Yes, it’s a return to the original cast as Rick Braun, David Benoit, Peter White and Brenda Russell join Koz on a journey featuring Christmas classics and smooth jazz favorites.
Along with celebrating 12 years of the annual Christmas tour, Koz will also get his own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame tomorrow during an 11:30 a.m. ceremony just outside the Capitol Records building.
The 12th annual Smooth Jazz Christmas tour begins Nov. 27 in Mobile, Ala., at the Saenger Theatre. From there it heads to Sarasota, Fla., for a Nov. 28 gig at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and on Nov. 29 the tour lands in West Palm Beach, playing Dreyfoos Hall.
Other tour stops include Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Newport News, Va., Morristown, N.J., and Cerritos, Ca. Last date on the itinerary is Dec. 22 in Mesa, Ariz., at the Mesa Arts Center.
If Koz seems to be filled with a little more “Christmas cheer” this year than on past seasonal tour outings, it might be because the saxman has partnered with Whole Foods and Napa Valley boutique winery Vinum Cellars to combine his two great loves – jazz and wine. Three types of Koz wine debuted last month with all proceeds benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
