MTV.com pointed out that although the radio show is Brown’s first billed show since the February altercation, he took to the stage Aug. 2 and filled in for Drake during Lil’ Wayne’s America’s Most Wanted tour stop in Virginia Beach, Va. Brown sang during Lil’ Wayne’s performance of “Every Girl” and then showed off the moonwalk while Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” played over the speakers.

Brown pleaded guilty in June to one count of felony assault against his fellow pop singer. The 20-year-old singer was accused of punching Rihanna, 21, biting her, putting her in a headlock and threatening to kill her during an argument while driving home from Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy Awards party, according to detective’s notes from the scene of the assault.

He was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor, in addition to promising to attend 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling. Brown must stay at least 100 yards away Rihanna during his five year probation, except at industry events where they must maintain a distance of 10 yards.

Brown began his community labor sentence last week, as he spent Sept. 17 picking up weeks and hauling broken metal fencing. He posted a picture of himself working up a storm, and adorned in an orange vest, on his new Web site, Mechanicaldummy.com, with the caption “Chris Brown Takes Responsibility.”

Underneath the caption says, “Stop and think back to the last time you accepted responsibility for something. Undertaking responsibility for each one of your actions is a difficult task, but by admitting your mistakes, you are taking your life to a higher level of accountability.” There’s also a picture of a T-shirt that says “Break The Cycle” along with the word “Violence” circled and crossed out.

The singer is working on his third studio album, Graffiti. MTV.com writes that the first single from the album, which doesn’t yet have a release date, is “Transformer,” featuring Lil’ Wayne and produced by Swizz Beatz.
