Staind Frontman Unplugs

12:01 PM, Wednesday 9/30/09 Add |   |

Aaron Lewis takes his much-lauded acoustic act back on the road for a series of dates beginning New Year’s Day in Nevada.

Lewis has been building his own career in between Staind outings, playing clubs and casinos armed only with an acoustic guitar. Lewis’ unplugged shows have been quietly gathering steam over the past few years, and now his solo dates are in demand, often selling out venues shortly after tickets go on sale.

Lewis launches his acoustic tour in Henderson, Nev., at the Green Valley Ranch on Jan. 1. Las Vegas is next on the routing with a show at the Aliante Casino slotted for Jan. 2. Reno follows Jan. 8 when Lewis plays the Silver Legacy and West Wendover, Nev., at the Peppermill Concert Hall is scheduled Jan. 9.

Other stops include Temecula, Calif., at Pechanga Resort & Casino Jan. 10; St. Charles, Mo., at Ameristar Casino St. Charles Jan. 19; Vicksburg, Miss., at the Ameristar Casino Jan. 21-22 and Robinsonville, Miss., at Bluesville at Horseshoe Casino Jan. 23.

The next month has Lewis in Uncasville, Conn., at the Mohegan Sun Feb. 5: Verona, N.Y., at Turning Stone Feb. 12 and Atlantic City at Borgata Feb. 13-14.

The last date on Lewis’ current schedule – Feb. 25 in Hammond, Ind., at the Horseshoe Casino – will begin the second leg of Lewis’ solo tour, so expect more dates to be announced shortly.

Coming up in 2010 Lewis will also appear on “Dream Season Celebrity” a popular reality hunting show on the Outdoor Channel, where teams of hunters compete against each other.

Lewis’ appearance on the show’s seventh season represents a change for the series as it adds four celebrity team members paired with “average Joes.” Lewis’ appearance will help raise funds for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which arranges special, once-in-a-lifetime hunting and fishing trips for kids suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
