Schmit’s ‘Expando’ Hits The Road

Posted on Friday October 9, 2009 at 02:01 PM Add |

It’s not often Timothy B. Schmit does his own tour, but the Eagles member has slotted a few solo concerts to showcase his first album in 8 years.

Schmit’s album – Expando – lands in stores Oct. 20. Although it’s a “solo” album, Schmit did get a little help from his friends, including Keb’ Mo’, Graham Nash, Kid Rock, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Garth Hudson, Van Dyke Parks, Dwight Yoakam and Benmont Tench of The Heartbreakers. Schmit’s son, Ben, also appears on the album.

Expando was recorded at Schmit’s home studio near Los Angeles. Hank Linderman, who recorded Schmit’s last solo effort – Feed The Fire – not only engineered Schmit’s latest but performs on it as well.

Schmit’s tour is just a short run, so you may have some traveling to do. It all starts in Los Angeles at Largo Oct. 14. The next stop is Nashville at The Basement Oct. 16. Then it’s on to the City of the Big Shoulders – Chicago – Oct. 18 for a gig at Schubas. The last date is Oct. 21 in New York City at the Bitter End.

Not all tickets can be purchased online, so the next stop you want to make is at Timothy B. Schmit’s Web site. Just click here to begin your journey.
