Nozuka’s five-week tour kicks off Nov. 3 at New York City’s Webster Hall and will see the 21-year-old Canadian tunesmith hitting large clubs and theatres in cities he’s visited before (Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco), as well as those he hasn’t (Omaha, Neb.; Eugene, Ore.).
The singer launched a worldwide campaign behind Holly last spring that included a co-headlining tour with fellow singer/songwriter Missy Higgins, an appearance on John Mayer’s musical voyage Mayercraft Carrier II and solo headlining dates in France, the U.K., Japan and his native Canada.
In between, Nozuka managed to find time to hit the studio with producer Bill Bell to work on tunes for his sophomore release that he’s anxious to unveil live.
“The second album is almost complete,” Nozuka said. “It’s been a long while in the making, and I’m so pleased with how it’s all feeling. More than ever, I’m excited to be coming out on the road again and to have the opportunity to make music with my guys, and to spread it throughout. It’s all very exciting!”
While fans abroad have already gotten a peek at Gray, which is due out next year, next month’s tour will be the first time the singer has performed any of the new material in the States.
