Tegan And Sara 2010 U.S. Tour

08:01 AM, Wednesday 10/14/09 Add |   |

Indie rock’s favorite Canadian twin sisters, Tegan and Sara, have announced dates for a 2010 late winter/early spring U.S. tour.

The round of dates marks Tegan and Sara’s first extensive U.S. tour in nearly two years.

The run kicks off Feb. 12 at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, Mass., and wraps up April 6 at In The Venue in Salt Lake City.

Additional dates include Orpheum Theatre in Boston (Feb. 13), Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. (Feb. 17), Warehouse Live in Houston (Feb. 27), Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego (March 3) and Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee (March 25).

A ticket pre-sale begins today, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. The password is “Sainthood.” Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m.

This month the duo is set to play two night stands at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre Oct. 25-26 and then New York’s Town Hall, Oct. 30-31.

Tegan and Sara then head off on a European tour, with dates stretching from a Nov. 13 show at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London through a Nov. 30 gig in Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium.

The twins don’t take much of a break before they squeeze in one more trek prior to the U.S. tour – a round of Canadian dates. The Canadian tour runs from a Dec. 21 show at Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, through a Jan. 27 show at Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Tegan and Sara’s sixth full-length album, Sainthood, is set for release Oct. 27.

“Hell,” the first single from Sainthood, is available for purchase as a digital download and is streaming live on the band’s Web site. Fans who pre-order the new album through iTunes will receive the tune as a free digital download. iTunes is also offering an exclusive deluxe version of the album with two bonus tracks –“Wrists” and “Light Up.”

Tegan and Sara are also releasing a three-book set entitled ON, IN and AT. The books, which chronicle the past year in the lives of the sisters, are being released on the band’s Web site in conjunction with the new album.
