McCartney’s Lucky 7

Posted on Thursday October 22, 2009 at 09:01 AM Add |

Paul McCartney has one more ticket to ride this year as the former Beatle wraps up 2009 with a seven-date tour of Europe beginning Dec. 2 in Germany.

Macca’s “Good Evening Europe” tour schedule shows Germany as the big winner with three McCartney concerts, while France, Netherlands, Ireland and England score one each.

Here’s the plan: Hamburg at the Color Line Arena Dec. 2; Berlin at the O2 World Dec. 3; Arnhem at the Gelredome Dec. 9; Paris at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy Dec. 10; Cologne at the Lanxess Arena Dec. 16; Dublin at The O2 Dublin Dec. 20 and London at The O2 Dec. 22.

Not only is the London stop McCartney’s last concert in 2009, but it is also his only show in the U.K.

Hamburg occupies a special place in Beatles history. The band honed their craft in the German town 49 years ago before future-manager Brian Epstein happened upon the lads in Liverpool’s Cavern Club. This will be McCartney’s first appearance in Hamburg since 2003.

However, Berlin fans have had to wait longer for the former moptop. McCartney hasn’t played the German capital since 1993.

“This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began,” McCartney said. “Starting in Hamburg, ending in London and rocking everywhere in between. I’m very much looking forward to ending the year on a high.”

Tickets for the London show go on sale Oct. 26. For more information on McCartney’s 2009 Euro tour, please click here for the artist’s website.
