Sure, that’s all good, but what about a tour? Doucet launches a solo outing Oct. 29 in Decatur, Ga., and will play towns big and small before it wraps Nov. 21 in Ann Arbor, Mich., at The Ark. Plus, he’s on a Cayamo cruise with John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Melissa McClelland in February.
The Canadian singer / songwriter / guitarist has three solo albums and a live release to his credit as well as three albums with the band Veal. His latest effort – Blood’s Too Rich – was hailed as a landmark album by the Toronto Star which described it as “evocative and quite fearless” while Guitar Player called it “twangy, rootsy and just plain awesome.”
Let’s talk itinerary. Doucet begins his solo outing Oct. 29 in Decatur, Ga., at Eddie’s Attic. Oct. 30 brings him to Asheville, N.C., at The Grey Eagle and Halloween will be Charlotte, N.C., at the Evening Muse.
November stops include Vienna, Va., at The Barns at Wolf Trap Nov. 5; Montclair, N.J., at Outpost In The Burbs Nov. 6; Cambridge, Mass., at Club Passim Nov. 7; Londonderry, N.H., at Tupelo Music Hall Nov. 8; Pittsfield, Mass., at the Mission Bar Nov. 13 and NYC at Joe’s Pub Nov. 10.
Other cities on the routing include Philadelphia, Norfolk and Pittsburgh. Doucet will be appearing with Willy Porter on most dates.
Doucet has also been giving out free guitar lessons via YouTube, showing fans how to play his songs such as “Buttercloud” and “Long Haul Driver.”
