Schmit Slots West Coast ‘Expando’ Dates

09:01 AM, Thursday 11/12/09 4 |   |

Last month when Timothy B. Schmit announced dates to promote his first solo album in eight years – "Expando" – it looked as if fans would have to trek eastward to see the Eagles member on his own. Never fear. Schmit has lined up a West Coast run scheduled to begin during the first week of December in the Pacific Northwest.

Schmit recorded Expando in his home studio near Los Angeles. Although it’s considered a solo album, that doesn’t mean Schmit didn’t have a little help from his friends. The guest list includes Kid Rock, Graham Nash, Keb’ Mo’, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Garth Hudson, Van Dyke Parks, Dwight Yoakam, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers member Benchmont Tench. Schmit’s son Ben also appears on the album.

First stop is Portland, Ore., at the Aladdin Theatre Dec. 7. Seattle is next with Schmit scheduled to play the Triple Door Dec. 9. The first California date is Sacramento at the Crest Theatre Dec. 11 then it’s on to San Francisco for a show at the Great American Music Hall Dec. 13.

The last three stops on Schmit’s December calendar are Santa Barbara at Soho Dec. 14; Los Angeles at the Troubadour Dec. 17 and Solana Beach (San Diego) at the Belly Up.

Tickets for Seattle, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and San Diego go on sale Nov. 13, Portland Nov. 14 and San Francisco Nov. 15. For more information, click here for the Timothy B. Schmit Web site.

Schmit is not a "former Eagles member".  He has been a member of the Eagles since 1977 and has participated whenever the band has been active since then.  When the Eagles' Long Road Out of Eden tour resumes in 2010, Schmit will be with them playing bass and singing the high harmony parts as usual.

Schmit has been hanging around Henley far too long and is becomming very rude at assuming eveyone asking for his autograph is a dealer/seller. Wake up TBS, sometimes it is actually a fan asking.

As far as I know he only played one east coast show at the Bitter End in NYC.  Will there be more?
