Every Lawsuit Tells A Story

Posted on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 10:01 AM 1 |

There’s never a dull moment when you don’t pay your lawyers and they end up suing you for services rendered. Just ask Rod Stewart.

Prominent entertainment law firm Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs and Shapiro filed papers against Stewart yesterday, claiming there’s a reason to believe he owes $3.3 million in legal fees.

According to the lawsuit, Stewart owes the law firm for work on three cases – a 2000 cancellation in Vegas for which a federal jury ordered him to pay $2 million to the Rio hotel casino; a trademark-infringement case and a lawsuit filed by a concert promoter.

Now the Rock And Roll Hall of Famer faces the same people who once represented him. A law firm that has already won judgments for high-profile clients like architect Frank Gehry and TV host Bob Barker. Some guys have all the luck.
