Maxwell To Perform Benefit After Grammy Noms Concert

Maxwell has a busy night lined up for Dec.2. After taking part in “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!:Countdown To Biggest Night,” the R&B singer will stick around Los Angeles’ Club Nokia for a special benefit performance.

All proceeds from “The Grammy Museum Presents: Maxwell” will go towards the Grammy Museum, which is located next door to Club Nokia. The benefit comes just days before the museum’s first anniversary Dec. 6.

“We’re thrilled that Maxwell has graciously offered to lend his name and talents to benefit our young Museum,” said Executive Director Robert Santelli. “To know that such a phenomenal talent believes in what we’re doing is an encouraging compliment and a great way to celebrate our one-year anniversary.”

The six-time Grammy-nominated singer recently released his fourth studio album, BLACKsummers’night.

The benefit show takes place at 9:30 p.m., with doors opening at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for Museum Members and $35 for the general public.

“Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!” is airing live on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT and marks the second time Grammy nominations have been announced live on primetime TV.

The one-hour special is being hosted by two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J. Along with Maxwell, additional performers include three-time Grammy winners the Black Eyed Peas, Grammy-winner Sugarland and the debut of Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonas new project, Nick Jonas & The Administration.

Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon.

The 52nd edition of the Grammy Awards takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Jan. 31, 2010 and will be broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
