“Since I was last on tour, I have been working in television and radio, traveling all over the world,” Rollins said. “And like everyone else, dealing with the changes America – and the world – are going through. I thought America would become a more peaceful place in 2009. I had no idea the country had so many lunatics. There’s a lot to remark upon of course. There always is.”
To spread the gospel about how he sees what’s happening in the U.S. and abroad, Rollins will hit the road early next year. The “Frequent Flier Tour” will kick off in mid-January in the U.K. and Europe, with a U.S. and Canadian leg launching in mid-February and running through early April.
In May, the singer, author and lecturer will head to Australia and then South Africa, where he filmed his acclaimed 2008 IFC special “Uncut from South Africa,” and then head back to North America for another run of dates.
Tickets for the “Frequent Flier Tour,” which is subtitled “Knowledge Without Mileage Equals Bullshit,” go on sale Dec. 4.
Rollins’ most recent travels (to far-flung places like Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, China and Senegal) do more than provide material for his upcoming tour. They’re also the basis for his latest book, A Mad Dash, a frenetic travelogue spanning more than one hundred live performances and the filming of five documentaries on five continents.
