So it appears that someone up in the ivory towers at Disney/ABC is either feeling badly about yanking Adam Lambert off “GMA,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” or they’re trying to do a little damage control. The network is making it up in a big way this week.

I realize the Kimmel and NYRE cancellations are kind of old news. I was prepared to write about the latest cancellations last week. But since I really do like Adam and want him to succeed for himself and thousands of others of out entertainers trying to make it, I decided to give the issue some breathing room.

Besides, this is a story that just keeps on giving. First GLAAD and “American Idol” judge Kara KioGuardi pretty much took ABC’s side on dropping Lambert from a couple of shows (kind of shocking, right?).

Next, the network announced that not only would the singer appear on its daytime chatfest “The View” Thursday (what I wouldn’t give to be backstage listening to Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s off-camera thoughts that day!), he’s going to be featured as one of Barbara Walters’ “10 Most Fascinating People” the same night. If that’s not a make nice gesture, I don’t know what is.

If you want to hear some of Adam’s thoughts in a really, really gay-friendly forum, you can tune in tonight as he plays host on LGBT cable network Logo’s “NewNowNext PopLab” at 7 p.m. EST. If the clip Logo has been playing for the past few days is any indication, things could get interesting.
