Odds & Ends: Marilyn Manson, Nelly And Michael Moore

03:06 PM, Monday 12/28/09 Add |   |

Nelly offers reward for home robbery, Marilyn Manson settles lawsuit with former bandmate and Michael Moore teams with comic actor Jeff Garlin for Michigan comedy festival.

Nelly Offers Big Bucks For Burglary Info

Someone broke into Nelly’s St. Louis home earlier this month. Now the rapper is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the perp.

That’s right. Perp as in just one suspect. Although Nelly wasn’t home, there were three people in the residence during the early morning hours of the Dec. 11 break-in, and one of them claims he confronted a male intruder estimated to be in his 20s or 30s.

The robber is thought to have absconded with a duffel bag full of goodies including electronic gear and other items.

Nelly issued the award through CrimeStoppers. For more information, please click here for the St. Louis CrimeStoppers chapter.

Manson Settles With Gacy

Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson has settled a lawsuit with one of his former bandmembers.

Stephen Bier, who went by the name Madonna Wayne Gacy back in the day when Manson was billed as Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids, did not get the multimillion dollar judgement he sought when he filed suit for money he felt Manson owed him. But Bier didn’t exactly walk away empty handed, either.

According to Manson’s lawyer, the agreement calls for Bier to receive $380,000; $175,000 of which will be paid by the shock rocker’s insurance company while Bier’s former business managers will cover the difference.

Bier sued Manson for $20 million in 2007, saying the controversial entertainer kept money from him in order to finance a lavish lifestyle that included buying Nazi memorabilia and an engagement ring.

Manson denied the claims, saying Bier didn’t perform his duties as expected. The case was supposed to go to court this month after frequent delays and months of bickering.

Garlin To Bring The Funny To Moore’s Film Festival

The Traverse City Film Festival isn’t just for flicks anymore.

The festival’s founder – Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore – announced the week long February event will also include the first-ever Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival.

Helping Moore present the comedy festival will be Emmy Award-winning actor / comedian Jeff Garlin, best known for portraying Larry David’s manager in the HBO sitcom “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

According to the Traverse City Record, the comedy festival will include performances by big names as well as the comedy world’s up-and-comers. A list of performers will be released next month.
