Friday Fun: Create Your Own Co-Bill

09:01 AM, Friday 1/15/10 18 |   |

This week’s announcement of a James Taylor / Carole King co-headlining tour got us to thinking: Which two artists would you love to see share a stage?

Sure, the Taylor / King hookup seems like a natural. Both artists began achieving solo success in the early 1970s and share a fan base.

But some co-headlines aren’t that obvious. The pairing of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss was pure genius resulting in a hit album and tour, but we’ll bet you never saw that coming until the collaboration was announced.

So which two artists would you like to see headlining a stage? Would you combine them for styles that complement each other, or would you seek to create a contrasting co-bill? The choices are almost infinite, but we think you can post a couple of potentially stellar combos in the comment thread below.

Fall Out Boy / Lady Gaga! I would die. I think their duets would be so amazing.

Garth Brooks and Chris Gaines would be the best double bill since Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana.

If actually possible Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Soundgarden and Pearl Jam for more realistic answer.

Way, WAY too numerous to mention, and it looks like I'm already gonna get one of them this summer with Eagles/Fleetwood Mac, but here's a few:

    Bob Dylan/Pete Seeger

any combo of U2/Green Day/Sex Pistols

    Foo Fighters/Hole

    Stones/Who

Britney/Christina, but only provided Britney sings live (unlikely, I know, but it's my wish)

And my girlfriend wanted me to add:

    Paul Simon/Barry Manilow

    James Taylor/Carly Simon

    Richard and Linda Thompson
