DJ AM’s Estate Settles Crash Lawsuit

11:01 AM, Friday 1/15/10 Add |   |

Another chapter to the terrifying jet plane crash that left four dead and seriously injured DJ AM and blink-182’s Travis Barker has come to a close as the disc jockey’s estate agreed to settling a lawsuit involving several companies accused of being involved in the disaster.

Barker and DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, were the only survivors when a charter jet crashed while taking off from an airport in West Columbia, S.C. in September 2008. The crash claimed the lives of the crew as well as Barker’s assistant and bodyguard.

Barker reached a confidential settlement with various companies in December. Like the Barker settlement, terms of the DJ AM settlement appear to be confidential.

Goldstein had once sought $20 million in damages, an amount that would have needed to be approved by a jury.

Goldstein’s estate amended the lawsuit to include a wrongful death claim after the celeb disc jockey died in his New York City apartment of an accidental overdose in August 2009.

TMZ reported the settlement includes all parties named in the lawsuit, including Clay Lacy Aviation, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and Learjet.
