Friday Fun: Country State Of Mind

09:01 AM, Friday 2/5/10 4 |   |

Who is the best country music performer alive today?

Country music fans have it made. While stars of other genres may only tour once every two or three years, many A-list country music performers take to the road almost every year. They work hard for the applause, leaving satisfied fans feeling they truly got their money’s worth.

So which country artists’ performances leave you shouting for more? Which ones never disappoint show after show and are must-sees year after year?

Is it Toby Keith? How about Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley or Keith Urban? And don’t forget about long-time country greats, like Reba McEntire, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks or George Jones.

  • Keith Urban

Alison Krauss! She could sing my grocery shopping list and still win a Grammy.

I love Kenny Rogers. His raspy voice reaches me whether he is singing a ballad or a story song. And what's more, he is a really nice guy.

Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and George Jones.  They are all old school country legends and a treat to see live.  I never miss a show by any of them if they are within a 100 mile radius (usually even more).

Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban.

Whilst Trisha doesn't have the 'big show' like the others, her shows shine with her powerful and pure voice and she is very witty and always interacts in such a personal way with the audience.
