Rock And Roll HoF Presenters

12:01 PM, Wednesday 2/24/10 5 |   |

The Brothers Gibb, Trey Anastasio and Steve Van Zandt are among the artists who will induct this year’s honorees into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.

Bee Gees Barry and Robin Gibb will induct ABBA, Trey Anastasio will induct Genesis and Wyclef Jean will do the honors for Jimmy Cliff.

But wait, there’s more.

E Street Band’s Steve Van Zandt has signed on to induct The Hollies, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong will induct The Stooges and Jackson Browne will induct Asylum Records founder David Geffen.

Carole King will definitely have her hands full. The singer/songwriter is tasked with inducting several of her songwriting peers – Barry Mann & Cynthia Wells, Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell.

The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies take place at New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria on March 15 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and you can watch it live from start-to-finish on cable music channel Fuse. For more info, click here for the Rock Hall’s Web site and here for Fuse.

About time the Stooges get there due. Tear up the place Iggy. Show them what real rock and roll is. Just remember that Ron Asheton will be there in spirit. We will probably have to wait another twenty years to see The Cramps get in.

I'd love to see The Cramps in there.  Is David Bowie in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

What is interesting is whether its really about honoring and respecting talent or its about selling tickets, getting free gear and memorabilia from the groups and exploiting rock groups.Who owns the venue and do they own the stuff the bands give to them or is it on loan?I think sometimes they are given stuff on loan but often I think its just given to them.Boy,you could get rich collecting that stuff.

As for the inductees..ABBA,Stooges,early Genesis. Its all essential.
