Disabled AC/DC Fan Injured

05:01 PM, Tuesday 3/2/10 4 |   |

A 31-year-old AC/DC fan suffered serious facial injuries and has lost vision in one of his eyes after a friend accidentally hit the joystick of his motorised wheelchair, which tumbled down to the mosh pit during the band’s Feb. 27 show at the Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre.

An investigation is under way to regarding the safety of the viewing platform set up for disabled patrons at the Brisbane venue. The fan is reportedly in hospital in a stable but serious condition.

In Sydney, AC/DC set a new audience record at ANZ Stadium, selling 212,729 tickets for their three shows. It overtook the 211,747 tickets that U2 shifted four years ago.

Isn't there a lock on the joystick, or a wheel lock?

Normally they don't mosh at AC/DC I'd think,is'nt that for Pantera and Slayer fans? You'd think whoever he smashed into would be the injured one.

The crowd at a concert is not the same thing as a mosh pit.  There is never going to be a mosh pit at an AC/DC concert.  That's not the kind of music that people mosh to.
