Aerosmith ‘Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock’

05:01 PM, Friday 3/5/10 5 |   |

It wasn’t very long ago when it looked as if Aerosmith was a house divided, what with stories about Steven Tyler quitting, and the band looking for a replacement. But that was then. Now the band appears to be as united as ever.

Rumors about Tyler quitting surfaced last fall when he told a reporter he would be working on “brand Tyler” for the next couple of years. That led to reports the band was holding auditions for a new singer and that Tyler was considering suing his bandmates for even thinking about replacing him.

But during the last week of February, Aerosmith announced Tyler was still in the band and that the boys would get down to the business of touring. What’s more, it appears as if the band is working really hard on presenting an all-for-one vibe.

For example, the press release issued today contains quotes from all five members. That’s something you don’t see every day, even from the more unified bands in the music world.

We’ll get to those quotes in a moment, but first we need to tell you what today’s Aerosmith announcement is all about – the adding of South America to the band’s “Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock Tour.”

First the dates. Look for Aerosmith to play Caracas, Venezuela at the La Rinconada Hippodrome May 18; Bogota, Colombia, at Simon Bolivar Park May 20; Lima, Peru, at the Explanada Monumental May 22; Santiago, Chile, at the Estadio Nacional May 25; Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Hippodromo San Isidro May 27 and Sao Paulo Brazil, at Palmeiras May 29.

Now the quotes.

Steve Tyler: “Back by popular demand with more spit and fire than ever before, we’re coming across the pond and partying the waters as we go.”

Joe Perry: “Aerosmith is going to be rocking in South America, the U.K. and Europe this summer. Enough BS – we’re coming and everything is going to be set at eleven.”

Joey Kramer: “Aerosmith is back! Bigger, better and stronger than ever! So look out South America and Europe, cuz we’re comin’ to get cha.”

Brad Whitford: “I’m not sure who is happier, the band or the fans. Can’t wait to get started. We’ll see you this summer.”

Tom Hamilton: “One thing we all agree on is that we love this band and it’s time to get out there and freakin’ play!.”

Yep, sounds like everything is just hunky dory on Planet Aerosmith. For more information on the “Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock Tour” and special VIP passes, click here for the AeroForceOne fanclub Web site. For band info, click here for the Aerosmith Web site.

Fantastic!  I can now save up $1,200 for an Aerosmith VIP Ticketing Experience and eat all the potato chips I want and have my picture taken with Steven's microphone stand.

Pack it in, old timers. You're done.  You guys aren't doing your legacy any favors by becoming the Beach Boys of 70s Rock Set.

What about the fans here in the USA, who paid good money for your tickets, only for you to cancel, and what schedule a whole new tour.......  What about the fans here, that you essentially told SCREW YOU!  Next time you tour, try starting on the west coast, cause any fans you have left deserve more respect than what you have provided to the fans in like N. California.  Aerosmith had cancelled and postponed more shows in N. California for the last three tours.  Don't believe me, check your books.  I am done wasting my hard earned cash to throw away on tickets, let alone the outrageous prices you and ticketbast&^d charge.  Was a fan back in your druggie 70"s and behind ya when you came back, but you lost all respect for me after you cancelled the remainder of your North American tour.
