Allman Brothers’ Change Of Plans

11:01 AM, Monday 3/8/10 1 |   |

Citing “unforeseen family matters,” the Allman Brothers Band has been forced to cancel the last few shows scheduled for their annual romp in New York City.

First of all, we need to stress that not all of the band’s dates at New York’s United Palace have been nixed. Shows originally scheduled for March 11 through 20 (March 11-13, 15-16 and 18-20) are still happening. However, it’s the last few dates – March 22-23 and 25-27 – that were canceled. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

In past years the band’s yearly New York residency would take place at the Beacon Theatre, but scheduling conflicts forced this year’s blowout to move to United Palace.

So far, the “unforeseen family matters” have only impacted the last few United Palace dates and have not affected other scheduled appearances, such as band’s Wanee Festival shows in Live Oak, Fla., April 16-17; this year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage appearance April 25 or the band’s performance at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Bridgeview, Ill., June 26.
